My Story

Healing Grace has been part of my recovery since first arriving at the Nest, before I even decided that this was the place I was going to be. I was greeted by the warm faces and caring hearts of two individuals who I came to know as Tammy and Amanda. I was at the Nest for a visit as I had just days prior almost taken my life. After realizing that at this stage in my life if I was going to continue to live, this was the place I needed to be right now.

 

Since my first day at Healing Grace after becoming part of the group, the fellowship, the family, Tammy and the staff there have played a huge role in not only my recovery, but my journey to live.  From the fellowship of sharing, insights, laughter, tears and growth in the group sessions, to the personalized one-on-one sessions with my counselor Tammy and the peer counselors. They have helped me grow, learn about myself, and push me to not only be sober, but to love myself and push myself to my best potential.

 

I am grateful everyday to have had them helping me regain my want to live. From the warm smiles, good mornings, and conversations with Amanda, to the safety and comfort established in the groups by Tammy and Randi. To the amazing trips, massages from Kandi CMT,  and events they take the time to organize and share with us. From the bottom of my heart thank you, you are all my family and have each had your own touch to help save my life. I love you all.
